HOW TO PLAY
Klondike Solitaire rules
Klondike is the classic Solitaire game. Twenty-eight cards are dealt into seven columns, with one card in the first column up to seven in the last, and only the top card of each face up. The remaining 24 cards form the stock. Your goal is to move all 52 cards onto four foundations, one per suit, from Ace up to King.
- Tableau: place a card on one rank higher of the opposite colour, such as a red 6 on a black 7. You can move a whole face-up sequence together.
- Empty columns: only a King, or a sequence starting with a King, can fill one.
- Stock: this version turns one card at a time (Turn 1) and lets you go through the stock as often as you like.
- Foundations: build each suit upward, Ace, 2, 3 and so on to King.
Tips to win more games
- Turn over face-down cards whenever you can, starting with the longest columns, where the most cards are hidden.
- Don't empty a column unless a King is ready to move into it.
- Look at every tableau move before you draw from the stock.
- Keep low cards in the tableau if they're the only place for another card to land.
