SOLITAIRE STRATEGY
Solitaire Strategy: Practical Tips
Winning Solitaire is less about moving cards quickly and more about creating future options.
1. Reveal hidden cards
When you have several legal choices, prefer the move that exposes a face-down tableau card. More visible cards generally means more possible moves.
2. Protect empty columns
An empty tableau column is valuable because it gives you somewhere to place a King and can help reorganize a long sequence.
3. Don't automatically play every low card
Aces and twos are usually safe foundation moves, but higher cards can sometimes be more useful in the tableau. Think about whether a foundation move removes an option you still need.
4. Use the stock deliberately
Before drawing, inspect the tableau and consider whether the next stock card could unlock a useful sequence.
5. Use Undo as a learning tool
When the game offers Undo, compare alternatives. This helps you learn which moves reveal more cards and which moves create dead ends.
